Zach Here. The Celestial Taco

My name is Zach. I drive a 2024 Tacoma. Celestial Silver nicknamed the Celestial Taco. Native Utahn. Thought I had explored all of Utah, but I keep finding new places to explore. Want to go to Colorado and explore some of the passes. I love old mining towns and ghost towns and am always on the lookout for those. Death Valley NP is high on the list as well. My truck is fairly stock at the moment. I have some armor and some upgraded tires. Looking to level the truck and put bigger tires on in the future. Also planning on ditching the RTT in a year or so and upgrade to a canopy camper. Any suggestions on power setup would be greatly appreciated as well. Oh, I also love dogs and I have two of my own who are my adventure sidekicks. Happy to be here.

How have I not met your pups yet!

You’d love Animas Forks in Colorado.

Stoked you’re here, we’ll have to talk about your power set up when ready.

What part of Utah do you hail from? I am always on the hunt for ghost towns and old mines. I like to get a history of them before I head out. Gives me an understanding of the history surrounding them.

I hail from Sandy, Ron. What about yourself? Finding ghost towns and mines, or desert gold as I call it, is one of my favorite things to explore when out overlanding. I usually go down a rabbit hole of history surrounding the places I go. I’m heading down this weekend to Sego. It’s a ghost town east of Green River and north of Moab, on the north side of I-70. To the south of 1-70 there are a bunch of old mines with some structures, old cars and the like still standing. I’ve done a deep dive and am excited to see what I discover down there.

I am in Herriman. Unfortunately I work this weekend. I work at Kennecott and I get 2 weekends off a month. On the 16th my cousin, from Arizona, is coming up and I will be on vacation till the 26th.

On user profiles, we can see what groups people are in: https://forum.overlandpeople.com/u/celestialtaco/summary

Notice UT-SLC group. When I invited people, I shared custom links that auto-added folks to groups. This can also be seen from the groups page if you’d like to browse people in your area.

Technically, anyone can join other groups… so that’s not foolproof. I’ll see about getting a map of where folks are at. #todo
