Having poor to no visibility from my rearview mirror, I stepped up and bought a Wolfbox pro900 mirror. I not only needed a rear camera but I wanted a good dash cam that didn’t either sit on my dash or use a suction cup to the windshield. I will say absolutely love my Wolfbox mirror. A month ago I got a message saying to reformat the SD card. I had read, it’s a good idea to wipe them occasionally so I reformatted it. The message started popping up about every other day. Turns out, I used the wrong SD card. I was suppose to use a Class10 and didn’t (don’t remember what but I know it was cheap).
The customer service from Wolfbox was incredible. They even sent me follow up emails to make sure all was ok. End result was, read the manual and do what they recommend.
Now if they will only develop something that works on blue tooth, I will be able to mount a camera on the back of my trailer.
I have the Brandmotion FullVUE Mirror Vision system. Works great! At the time I installed mine, Wolfbox was not available. It seems to be a great system as well. Great to hear about their customer service experience.
Yes, I do have a Wolfbox G900 Tri pro rearview mirror system. You should use an equivalent to a high quality SanDisk mircoSD card. I would suggest to use one that has all the markings. Top quality microSD card can be alittle pricey, but they are most likely compatible with other devices that you may want to use with. The higher prices also comes with high memory capacity. I would suggest to purchase one with the most memory that is available and compatible with your Wolfbox, which should be 512GB.
All, thanks for the details on customer service, confidence and technical advise on the Wolf Box. I’ve been in the market for a long time for a camera system for my Tundra and All Terrain camper. A couple of years ago, I bought 2 cameras along with my Garmin Overlander, but never installed the cameras. I don’t quite like the look and feel of the technology within the Garmin. I also haven’t enjoyed being led to closed roads and “alternate” destinations on occasion. Installing their cameras makes me think I’ll maybe see a tree instead the elusive big foot I’ve so desperately been searching for.
I may pull the trigger on a Wolfbox to discontinue the “driving by sound” method I’ve been using especially when backing up.
I’m not sure what you guys are referring to in regards to wifi message. I don’t have that issue, but I had also did update to their latest firmware shortly after getting the Wolfbox.
I had mine for about a year before it popped up. It happened while I was on vacation. It was very annoying. Google searched it, had to set up the mirror for WIFI and download update. problem gone. I get home and the one in my Tacoma did the same thing within a week. That one was only a few months old.
The question is, how did it know, it needed an update if its not on the internet?
Hmm…interesting. I didn’t have the wifi messaging issue, but I had known in advance the wifi setup had to be done. A similar process for my previous 70Mai dashcam.
One of the “mods” I would like to see is a wireless hookup for my trailer. I asked wolfbox if they had anything in the works, nope…damn.
One of wolfbox’s competitor’s (don’t remember name) was at the overland show last weekend. Now I have a human to speak with. The response to my question was “Why would you want a wireless camara?”, “those don’t work well and have issues!”.
They could have just said no rather than justify the fact they don’t have the technology. My “non argumentive” response back was, “I have a cheap wireless amazon camara that works great. The technology exists and isn’t that difficult”. I just don’t like having to use my tablet as a monitor, especially if I have a high rez lcd screen as a mirror.
Sigh…one more project to add to my white board. Build a suitable transmitter/receiver that ties into my existing system. I just want to buy one.
In my personal opinion I think Wolfbox is heading in a different direction when it comes to dashcam/back up cameras. I think Red Tiger is going to take over Wolfbox dashcam division. Don’t quote me, just a hunch.
Let’s talk about this when you get to that moment in time… I bet we can do something that would accommodate this. I’ve also been thinking about cameras on my truck and have looked into different offerings quite a bit.
