Rigs & Brunch, happening again!

Near SLC UT

10am arrival/meet-and-greet
10:30am brunch
Post-brunch, hang out until you’ve had enough!

Location will be shared prior to event for those who’ve RSVP’d.

Food to be pre-ordered beforehand to create a great experience for all with restaurant logistics.

Talk mods, talk trips, talk places you’ve been and want to go, organize an event with a few others and more. (Or simply sit back, listen and learn - it can be a whole new world for some!)

Bring a friend, bring the family, simply good ol’ time bringing folks together to learn and share and adventure. Many people in our group first joined, some never been on dirt with their truck and now have dozens of days offgrid under their belt. All in the name of adventure and that space we all seek outdoors.

Be sure and mark “Going” if you can make it.

As of right now I don’t believe I work that Saturday. So long as nothing comes up I should be there.

Update: checked and I do not work that Saturday. It’s the following Saturday I’m on the hook holding down the shop. So I’ll 100% be there for this one

Hey all, thanks for the bump. I’ll send a message out tomorrow or Tuesday with venue info and pre-orders. Still adapting to this new process and figuring it out (on this forum). I’ve messaged many people from past events via SMS/iMessage. It’s possible some folks are outgrowing these events and/or folks are just busy.

Either way, I’ll send a message out, I’d still like to have closer to 30 people. I’m also wanting this forum to send out text messages for these events, not just an email.

Appreciate everyone’s patience here! @Cassiano will be hosting, I won’t be able to make it, I’ll manage all RSVPs/pre-ordering of food/etc remotely and coordinate with restaurant. Little bumpier than I’d like, but we’ll get there.

Hey all, I’ve sent location details privately + food pre-ordering options.

I’m also running ads across social and am talking with several other people… will have more than RSVP count here.

Appreciate your interest and patience, learning a lot about this new system. I want text messages to go out for stuff like this to make it as easy as possible.

Note: I’ve been running ads, the RSVP count here isn’t reflective. We’ll likely have closer to 30 people and have a waiting list.

RSVP is finalized until food order is placed. I’ve sent everyone here direct messages yesterday. Let me know if you have any issues placing an order, otherwise we’ve had a handful of them come in. And we’ll have a lot of new faces.

I’m down in TX hosting a Rigs & Brunch soon… getting a little FOMO from SLC… not going to lie.

Well, experienced my first bug on the forum (already looking into it). Typed out a long response, had an error uploading a photo, lost 15 minutes of what I typed. Haha.

Trying again, a few updates:

  1. We’ll have 30 people, we currently have 32 RSVPs who have pre-ordered. Working with the restaurant to see if they’ll accommodate, already have a waitlist going.
  2. There will be ~15 new faces.
  3. If you’re a regular, help carry the culture of Rigs & Brunch forward. Say hi to a new face, ask where someone has been, where they want to go, if they normally go out with folks, what their vision is for their rig, etc.
  4. Since I won’t be there, @Cassiano will be hosting! Grateful for his willingness to host (as I figure this out, I don’t want to bottleneck the group!). He is thoughtful, kind, great energy, carries forth the values we believe in – outdoor etiquette, done recovery training, been around the block with trips, etc. We’ve collaborated on dozens of nights of trips across various states. In case you haven’t met him, here’s a photo!
  5. I welcome any photos/video folks want to take of their experience at Rigs & Brunch, in the spirit of helping others find their place here. I’ll share a link post-event to upload. I’d like to better communicate the vision here, but if nothing changed and it was what it is today, that’s enough for me! (I also want to better communicate how media is used, sorta threw media from past events into an ad to get more folks without diminishing the quality of the group, something I will protect)
    1. We’ll likely, at least, do the “down the table” shots like last time

  6. Many learnings from this new forum, a few thoughts:
    1. I want people to get text messages of new Rigs & Brunch events + trips that occur.
    2. Easier experience overall, already have a system to help with this simply need to adapt it to our needs.
  7. I’ll likely invite folks to the forum after they show up, assuming no one is there for purely business intent/sales/they seem like a great fit.

Hey everyone, I woke up congested. Probably allergies but in case it’s not, I’m going to stay home. I’ll catch you at the next one!

Oh no! Thanks for the heads up. I’ll attempt to activate someone on the wait list.

Matthew, you better activate someone for me. I started getting sick last night and I am selfish. I like to keep my germs to myself. Sorry about this.

Thanks for the heads up! Hope you both feel better soon. Thanks for being mindful about this, and selfish

Solid time today, feel bad I had to jet right after eating. Hopefully we’ll get to hang out longer at the next one :clinking_beer_mugs:

Wish I didn’t come down with something and could have gone. Hopefully next time.

Wanted to follow up here and thank @Cassiano for hosting our first Rigs & Brunch!

Great turn out! I individually checked in with everyone and heard nothing but great things.

Personally, this was a milestone – I enjoy bringing folks together and dislike if I bottleneck human connection. Grateful to support from afar. Looking forward to doing this in other states that I’ve hosted sporadic Rigs & Brunch’s at. Also, lots of learnings on how to do this better next time (with this forum). Appreciate everyone’s patience with the experience as I improve it.

All attendees have been invited to the forum who showed up if they were interested.
