Oregon California Trails Association

I am posting this with the permission of Matthew. I invite members to check out the Oregon California Trails Association and for those in Utah, the local chapter Utah Crossroads Chapter. The OCTA is is a non-profit organization that is interested in preserving the history of emigrant trails and the emigrants that traveled to the West in the 1800’s. We also try to preserve the trails by going on field trips, establishing signs and kiosks, and other activities. I have found the organization has helped to enhance my overlanding experience. You can get more information on the Oregon California Trails Association’s website, or if you have any questions I can try to be of some help.

Thanks,

Ron W.

Thanks for posting this @Os1rfw . This kind of history has always been interesting to me. I was out by the salt flats a few weekends ago and ran across Hastings Cutoff and other markers that marked the way of the emigrant travels. To me, it’s an interesting part of Utah history and of history overall. Thanks again for sharing.
