Have the my house up for sale in So Cal. Looking to move to southern Utah. Just spent a week out there. Love the area around Enoch but 5 days of looking at homes is a bit tiring.
The down side is, I haven’t been camping in months and am going through hard withdrawal’s. I do have a trip in a few weeks so that will help. I do need to get a few “small” vehicle projects done before the trip.
OK, done ranting for now and off to the garage to to finish the tailgate compartment in my FJ80.
Note: Did the trip in the new Landcruiser. The only down side to it was I didn’t have my star link. need a new roof rack and those will be its first upgrades.
When I rented a vehicle and wanted to use my Starlink I found that laying it on the dash with a towel or shirt tucked under it to keep it from sliding worked fine on roads.
I didn’t even realize i needed it until we went a bit remote. next month the new cruiser gets a roof rack. I’m going to wire it so I can switch from the 80 to the new one. We also need to put a fridge in the back. The new cruiser comes with a center console fridge which rocked but I want something bigger. Doesn’t hurt that I have three of them and one just sitting in the garage.
Wow. First world problems. Whining about not having a fridge and phone service off grid.
PETE…good to see you here. Yeah, have a whole new state to explore. I will still be doing my Mojave trips and I want to go to Monache meadows this fall. May be able to talk carl into leading a death valley trip.
Been looking at southern Utah, mostly around Enoch. My family lives in Vegas and girlfriends family is five hours from there. South of salt lake was an option but we would have to fly to visit and house prices are almost as bad as where we came from. We also liked Moab area but for the money Enoch seems to be priced best.
Anywhere we go to explore is going to be a long drive to explore, it wouldn’t matter what area.
Moab is great, but there are too many tourists. I feel for the residents. A friend of mine lived in Enoch. I always it was a nice area, and it is on the way to the Arizona Strip.
@Os1rfw I’ve got a route for Arizona Strip. You + @Smritte will get along well. We’ll likely do something, I was tipping Scott of on it. 6 days, 350 miles of dirt… I’ve got an entire route in mind.
Looking forward for @Smritte to meet the UT peoples. I’ve done 100+ days of trips with @Smritte .
