Carl - Southern California, Jeep Wrangler

Hi my name is Carl and I’m an Overlander.

I drive a Jeep Wrangler and I do Jeep stuff like driving on sketchy dirt trails, climbing over large rocks, camping in hard to get to places with nobody around, and going to shopping malls so people can place rubber ducks on my hood.

I have mostly travelled and camped in the states on the western side of the Rocky Mountains with the four corners states and California being where I am the most. I have overlanded internationally in places like Iceland, Baja and most recently Mongolia and West Africa. My future goal is to spend a lot more time in those places as well as the central asian silk road countries and other areas in Africa and South America. In between I’ll be still trying to find new obscure backcountry spots in the southwest while revisiting my favorites.

This was our Death Valley trip. My first time and it was epic. Definitely a bucket list trip for me.

Thanks Carl for sharing all your knowledge and expertise. It made for a challenging but enjoyable trip.

My first thought reading this is saying back to you, out loud,

”Hi Carl.”

(If you know you know)

Thanks for the intro here Carl. Death Valley was so fun! I’m excited for @csampson to meet @Cassiano and @Mat one day.

I don’t like how these photos have Jeeps in the foreground, though…
